The Application of a New Line Protection in LiantangSubstation
500 kV Liantang Substation is the first digital substation in Shanghai with a high voltage level,new digital devices and a large scale. PRS-753, a new protective device, is introduced here with its application in Shanghai power grid, which has adopted a new principle named the relative differential method. Based on the analy- sis of the new device's functions, the difference and particularity of its differential function, channel changeover and communication interface is pointed out. Due to some inadequate hardware design,the new protective device needs further optimization and improvement. It is suggested that we should strengthen monitoring its general health and further investigate potential dangers and the experience of the daily operation, maintenance and sudden accident treatments in digital substation should accumulate in order to provide peer reference.
