Re-examining the Influence of Migration on Rural Adolescents'Human Capital Accumulation from the Perspective of Migration Age
It is of great practical significance and research value to fully understand the influ-ence of migration age on the cognitive ability and non-cognitive ability of rural adolescents.Based on the data of Chinese Education Panel Survey, this paper uses OLS and GPSM model to empiri-cally analyze the influence of migration age on the accumulation of human capital of rural adoles-cents,and explores the heterogeneity of this effect in different growth stages, living style and family economic conditions. We find that,on the whole, the younger the rural adolescents are when they migrate, the more conducive they are to the development of their cognitive and non-cognitive abil-ities;Compared with migration during school age,the human capital of adolescents who follow mi-gration before school age is more significantly improved; The effect of human capital accumulation accumulation brought by early migration needs to be based on the companionship of both par-ents.Compared to wealthy families, early family relocation can promote more the development of cognitive and non-cognitive abilities of children from non-wealthy families.Based on this, the ref-erence way to improve the human capital of rural youth is proposed from the level of family and government.
