Have Public Agricultural Technology Promotion and Digital Agricultural Technology Service Promoted Farmers'Adoption of the Rice-crayfish Co-culture Model
As important media for disseminating agricultural technology information,public agricultural technology promotion and digital agricultural technology service provide important sup-port for farmers to adopt the rice-crayfish co-culture model and realize scientific manage-ment.Based on the survey data of farmer households in the middle and lower reaches of the Yan-gtze River in 2021,we empirically analyse the impact of public agricultural technology promotion and digital agricultural technology service on farmers'adoption of the rice-crayfish co-culture model.This study finds that,public agricultural technology promotion and digital agricultural tech-nology service have important role in promoting farmers'adoption of the rice-crayfish co-culture model,and this role is mainly achieved through two mechanisms:economic benefit cognition and usability cognition,the above conclusion still holds after solving the endogeneity problem.Compared with public agricultural technology promotion,digital agricultural technology service is a new driving force for farmers to adopt the rice-crayfish co-culture model,and there is a complementary effect rather than a substitution effect between the two.In addition,there are sig-nificant differences in the impact of public agricultural technology extension and digital agricultural technology services on the adoption behavior of different labor endowment groups,which shows that when the labor force quantity and labor quality are at a medium and higher lev-el,public agricultural technology extension can help farmers to adopt behavior.The effect of digital agricultural technology service on the adoption behavior of the low-quantity group is not signifi-cant,and the effect on the adoption behavior of different labor quality groups is significant.
