Can Returning Home for Entrepreneurship Improve the Income of Rural Residents:Investigation Based on the Pilot Policy of Returning Home for Entrepreneurship
Migrant farmers returning home for entrepreneurship is an important way to relieve rural employment pressure,improve farmers'income and promote the transformation from"working economy"to"entrepreneurial economy".Using the DID method and the national county panel data,this paper examines the impact and mechanism of the pilot policy of returning home for entrepreneurship on the income of rural residents.The study finds that the policy significantly in-creases the income of rural residents in the pilot areas by promoting entrepreneurship,promoting the development of secondary and tertiary industries,and attracting factor inflows,and this policy effect has good inclusiveness and rural bias.The differences in the development of consumer market scale,financial efficiency,industrial agglomeration and entrepreneurial environment in vari-ous regions have a threshold effect on the income increase effect of farmers under the pilot policy of returning home for entrepreneurship.All regions should continue to strengthen entrepreneurial support and policy guidance for returning farmers,continue to optimize the entrepreneurial envi-ronment,accelerate the development of non-agricultural industries,improve the attraction of re-gional factors and create more entrepreneurial employment opportunities,so as to improve the in-come of rural residents and promote the balanced development of urban and rural areas.
