The Impact of Trade Facilitation on the Global Value Chain Position of Timber Industry Under the Background of Anti-globalization Thoughts
Under the continuous trend of anti-globalization,trade facilitation plays an impor-tant role in the participation of forestry industry in international division of labor production.Based on the panel data of 44 economies from 2008 to 2017,this paper constructs a two-way fixed effect model, focusing on the relationship between trade facilitation and the global value chain position of timber industry and its channels of action. Each 1%increase in the level of trade facilitation can significantly promote the global value chain status of a country's timber industry to rise by 0.0362%,mainly through three paths:cost effect, financing effect and technical effect. The impact effects are-0.954,0.531,0.922 and 1.025,respectively.In addition, from the perspective of heteroge-neity,trade facilitation has a more significant promoting effect on the global value chain position of the wood industry in developed countries. At the industry level, trade facilitation plays a more prominent role in promoting the position of wood processing industry in the global value chain. The research will provide theoretical ideas for promoting multilateral cooperation in forestry trade and achieving high-quality development of timber industry.
