The Impact of Digital Economy on Agricultural Carbon Emission Efficiency:Based on Threshold Effect and Spatial Spillover Effect Test
This paper explores the relationship between the digital economy in agriculture and rural areas and the efficiency of agricultural carbon emissions in 30 provinces on the basis of clari-fying their current characteristics, and also analyses the threshold role of rural human capital and the spatial spillover effects of digital economy on agricultural carbon emission efficiency. The find-ings are as follows:(1)Agricultural carbon emission efficiency and the development level of agri-cultural and rural digital economy are both on a steady rise in all Chinese provinces.During the sample period, except Shanghai, other 29 provinces show an increasing trend in agricultural carbon emission efficiency, with Qinghai showing the largest increase. All provinces show an increasing trend in the development level of agricultural and rural digital economy, with Zhejiang showing the largest increase.(2)The impact of digital economy on agricultural carbon emission efficiency has a positive"N"type non-linear relationship, that is,agricultural carbon emission efficiency will show a three-stage characteristic of"first increase, then decrease, and finally increase"with the devel-opment of digital economy, and eventually it will show a promoting effect.(3)The influence of dig-ital economy on agricultural carbon emission efficiency has a threshold of rural human capital, and the effect is always positive and non-linear.(4)Digital economy has a spatial spillover effect on agricultural carbon emission efficiency.Local agricultural carbon emission efficiency will be affected differently by the change of development stage of digital economy in neighboring regions.
