To study the influence of transition curve length on abrasion of small-radius curved tracks,this pa-per carries out research on the influence of transition curve length on track side abrasion and vehicle dynam-ic performance,relying on the actual abrasion data of R400m small-radius curve of the Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway and making use of simulation model.The analysis results show that under the same conditions,long transition curve contributes to small track abrasion,which is conductive to enhancing the service life of small-radius curved tracks.Under the same conditions,when a train passes a track with long transition curve,the wheel track lateral force,derailment coefficient,angle of attack of wheel track and wheel shaft lat-eral force are all significantly reduced,which helps improve the safety of train passing a small-radius curve.In addition,the length of a transition curve has a small influence on the rate of wheel load reduction for train passing.
