In face of the profound and complicated changes to policies and market environment,coal-fired power generating enterprises are faced with new requirements and higher standards for coal-fired power unit upgrading and retrofit.A well-performed economic evaluation is an important precondition for the implementa-tion of coal-fired power unit retrofit for energy saving and consumption reduction.The economic evaluation is an important part of feasibility study and project assessment,and is integral to the scientific decision-making in project investment.This paper carries out exploration of economic evaluation on energy saving and con-sumption reduction with an aim to normalize the economic evaluation on coal-fired power unit retrofit for en-ergy saving and consumption reduction,and unify the principles,content,criteria and depth of economic eval-uation.
