When conducting radio wave penetration detection in underground mining faces,the attenuation co-efficients of penetrating radio wave vary due to different coal seams,rock layers,and geological structures.For radio waves emitted from the same coal seam at the same frequency,the thicker the coal seam,the high-er the attenuation coefficient.In order to accurately detect the presence of internal geological structures in thick coal seam working faces,suitable antennas for radio wave penetration were selected through multi-fre-quency tests.By comparing the results of detections at various frequencies with the actual revealed geological structure characteristics,a detection antenna suitable for radio wave penetration in large-area working faces of thick coal seams was determined,thereby improving detection accuracy.
