The purification system is an essential component of the air separation unit, primarily responsible for removing moisture, carbon dioxide, acetylene, hydrocarbons, and other impurities from the air.During nor-mal operation, one purifier undergoes adsorption while the other undergoes regeneration, running in an alter-nating mode.During the regeneration heating phase, steam is used to raise the temperature of the regenera-tion gas.If there is a leak in the regenerative heater, steam may leak into the regeneration gas, causing an increase in the dew point and moisture content of the regeneration gas, affecting the effectiveness of the puri-fication system′s adsorbent regeneration, leading to a decrease in adsorption capacity. As a result, the outlet carbon dioxide content of the purifier increases, affecting the safe and stable operation of the air separation unit.In severe cases, shutdown procedures may be necessary. To eliminate the impact of leakage in the re-generative heater on the operation of the purification system, leakage inspection and isolation of regenerative heater are conducted during the regeneration interval.Additionally,an emergency operation method is adopted by using a parallel mode of steam heater and electric heater, ensuring the thorough regeneration of the purifi-cation system and normal operation of the air separation unit.
