To improve the efficiency and accuracy of simulating the flow characteristics of wind farms with complex terrain,this paper summarizes the method of assessing wind resources using CFD theory.Based on the open-source software OpenFOAM,the method involves secondary development,where wind data measured at arbitrary points within the wind farm are used to estimate various parameters at different turbine locations.These parameters include wind acceleration factors,mean wind speed,environmental turbulence,wind direc-tion deviation,inflow angle,wind shear,maximum wind speed occurring once in 50 years,and power genera-tion.Using real wind farms as the research object,calculations were performed using both commercial soft-ware WT and OpenFOAM.The results show that the average wind speed at hub height calculated by Open-FOAM differs from that calculated by WT by only 1.45%,and the difference in power generation is 1.22%.The calculation method proposed in this paper has important reference value for the refined assessment of wind resources.
