With the deepening of China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality strategies,it has significant impacts on the production and sales pattern of coal,the main cargo transported by Xinshuo Railway.In addi-tion,China Railway Group continues to strengthen the railway network in the Ordos region and accelerates the investment and construction of the container freight station by local enterprises.As a result,the railway transportation pattern in the eastern part of Ordos,the main coal loading areas of the Batuta-Jungar,Datong-Jungar and Zhunchi lines under the Xinshuo Railway Company,has undergone significant changes.Under the constraints of"carbon peaking and carbon neutrality"and overcapacity of the main trunk line in the railway network,how to take advantage of their own strengths to gain a head start in the process of competing with the surrounding road network for goods sources and continuously improve its core competitiveness is an ur-gent issue that needs to be studied and solved.This paper provides an in-depth analysis of the production and transportation pattern,road network pattern,competitive advantages,and shortcomings of the Xinshuo Rail-way in the coal market of Ordos under the background of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.It also pro-poses key development measures to accelerate the construction of dedicated lines and accelerate the construc-tion of first-class transportation enterprises.
