Research Process in Environment Exposure and Toxicity Risk of Carbaryl
Carbaryl is an important carbamate pesticide widely used to control a variety of pests in the production of various crops.During the 17th(CRC17),18th(CRC18)and 19th meeting(CRC 19)of the Rotterdam Convention Chemicals Review Committee, the compliance of Carbaryl with the Convention requirements, especially regarding the adequacy of the risk assessment data, was deliberated multiple times without consensus. This product will undergo further review at the CRC20.Therefore,this paper summarized the structure, physical and chemical properties, environmental exposures and toxic health risks of carbaryl, including acute and short-term toxicity,long-term toxicity, genetic toxicity, reproductive and developmental toxicity, and ecological toxicity. The aim is to provide scientific data support and reference for better safeguarding food security, agricultural product quality safety, and environmental safety.
