Field Control Effect of 20%Cyproflanilide Suspension Against Rice Chilo Suppressalis and Cnaphalocrocis Medinalis
To access the control effect and safety of the new pesticide cyproflanilide against Chilo suppressalis and Cnaphalocrocis medinalis, efficacy trials of 20%cyproflanilide suspension concentrate(SC)were conducted from 2022 to 2023 using manual spraying and unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)application method. The results showed that the strategically applying of 20%cyproflanilide SC at a rate of 300 mL/hm2 twice(with a 10-day interval)during the initial stage of sheath wilting for Chilo suppressalis achieved excellent control, with a control effect exceeding 95%.Additionally,adding 150 mL/hm2 of mineral oil adjuvant to 20%cyproflanilide SC at 300 mL/hm2 during the peak egg hatching period of Cnaphalocrocis medinalis resulted in a leaf protection effect of 75%~80%(insect control effect of 62%~89%),indicating a significant synergistic effect.UAV application for the control of Cnaphalocrocis medinalis had a relatively smaller impact on the reduction of natural enemy spider populations, which generally recovered within 7~10 days after application. Therefore, for the control of Chilo suppressalis,20%cyproflanilide SC should be applied at 300 mL/hm2twice(with a 10-day interval)at the initial damage stage,For Cnaphalocrocis medinalis, the same dosage with the addition of mineral oil adjuvant at 150 mL/hm2 can be used for aerial application during the peak egg hatching period.Alternatively,it can be mixed with 30%indoxacarb water-dispersible granules for aerial application against Cnaphalocrocis medinalis. The 20%cyproflanilide SC demonstrates good safety forrice(Yongyou 1540).
