METAPHORICAL COGNITION OF THE CROSS-LANGUAGE DOMAIN USE OF CHINESE POPULAR SAYINGS AND APPRECIATION OF THEIR ENGLISH TRANSLATION
The cross-language domain use of words and expressions is a form of metaphorical cognition.This paper,taking some Chi-nese popular sayings for example,analyzes their metaphorical formation mechanism and discusses their different translations from con-ceptual connotation and some related factors.
