Grave occurrence reasons in successive years of rice sheath blight in direct seeding rice field in Hongze Country were that rice varieties suscepti-ble to disease, high temperature and hu-midity weather, inadvisable cultivate measures, and control techniques was not in place.Rice sheath blight should be controlled on the basis of agricultural control, and agricultural measures such as rational close planting, strengthening fertilizer and water management should be taken in order to improve direct-seeding rice growth environment and conditions. And the rice should be pro-tected by spraying insecticides as soon as possible, such as 24% thifluzamide SC 300 ml/hm2, 6%Jinggangmycin cni-diadin WP 900 g/hm2.
