Differences and Reasons for the Acceptance of Liu Zongyuan's Poems in the Tang Poetry of the Ming Dynasty
During the 276 years of the Ming Dynasty,Liu Zongyuan's poems by anthologists was not general-ly accepted highly. In the early and middle Ming Dynasty, influenced by the idea of respecting the poems in the flourishing Tang Dynasty and neglecting those in the middle and late Tang dynasties,48 pieces of Liu Zongyuan's poems were selected as most, and sometimes even none of them was taken.Although the acceptance is not high, but under the influence of the stylistic discrimination, its five-character ancient poems still won a place. In the late Ming Dynasty, the aesthetic pursuit became more diversified, the number of Liu's poems selected in-creased a little, but in the late Ming Dynasty, when the status of poets from the Middle Tang Dynasty had risen somewhat,Bai Juyi and Wei Yingwu ushered in a turning point and their poems were chosen more. However, only 55 poems by Liu Zongyuan's were selected, and the acceptance rate of Liu Zongyuan's poems has been decli-ning.This is closely related to the social and cultural environment of the Ming Dynasty and the promotion of literary concepts at different stages.
