The Research progress of transmembrane protein IRE1α in systemic lupus erythematosus
Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)is a complex systemic autoimmune disease. At present,it is known that the disease is a combination of genetic, infection, environmental and other factors, and various immune cells, inflammatory cytokines and abnormal signaling pathways are involved. However, the existing studies still have great limitations in understanding the etiology.Inositol requiring enzyme 1α(IRE1α)is an endoplasmic reticulum(ER)type Ⅰ transmembrane protein, which is expressed in almost all mammalian cells and tissues.IRE1α,with the activities of cytoplasmic kinase and ribonuclease,is a pressure sensor of ER stress, which is related to various physiological and pathological conditions that cause immune disorders. Many studies have proved that IRE1α plays a key role in autoimmune diseases. This article reviews how IRE1α participates in the development of SLE.
