This paper explored the impact of environmental laws and policies on environmental governance and the methods to assessing these laws and policies.By reviewing the development of environmental laws and policies in China in recent years,their main characteristics and trends were analyzed.Then then studied the impact of environmental laws on environmental governance,emphasizing the importance of law enforcement,but also pointed out some challenges.At the same time,it discussed the impact of environmental policy on environmental governance and emphasizes the importance of policy implementation and evaluation.In terms of evaluation methods,qualitative assessment,quantitative assessment,case study,environmental impact assessment,life cycle assessment and multi-standard decision analysis were introduced.The selection of appropriate evaluation methods depends on the research purpose and policy characteristics,and integrating multiple methods can provide a more comprehensive evaluation results.
