Water is one of the most common substances on the earth,and its unique physical and chemical properties determine its irreplaceable important position in the process of life.In this paper,the structure and physicochemical properties of water,the global water resources situation and the basic concepts of water cycle are summarized.The transport mechanism of water in biological cells and the regulation of water on the structure and function of biomolecules are introduced.
