Correlation between Recurrent BPPV and Bone Mineral Density and Bone Metabolic Indexes
To analyze the correlation between recurrence of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV)and bone mineral density(BMD)and bone metabolism,a total of 90 patients with BPPV were admitted to our Outpatient clinic as examples.According to the recurrence situation, patients were divided into observation group(relapse)and control group(non-relapse).The results showed that in the patients with recurrence after otolith reduction, the BMD of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, the decrease of bone mass and osteoporosis group was lower than that of the control group.Compared with the control group(P<0.05),the T value of BMD in the observation group decreased significantly.Bone metabolism indexes varied in patients with BPPV recurrence. The recurrence of BPPV was positively correlated with BMD and bone metabolism(r=0.905,P=0.000;r=0.954,P=0.000).These findings suggest that the recurrence of BPPV is related to BMD and bone metabolism.
