Divine Pact:Analysis of"Bai qi"Rituals and Rites of Life of Mazu Temple in Taiwan
With the relevant Mazu temple in Taiwan as an example,this paper briefly introduces the"Qi"and the words related to it,and discusses the relevant rituals and the life rituals of the Mazu temple in Taiwan for"Bai qi"—"paying tribute".At the same time,by referring to the"Bai qi"rituals—"worship ceremony"of other gods,it summarizes the types and objects of"Bai qi"in folk rituals,and discusses the responsibilities and obligations that man and god share for the life agreement in the process of"Bai qi".
