A Discussion on The Variant of the Song Edition by Yan Kejun and Lu Xinyuan Attached to the Chu Xue Ji
The authenticity of The Variant of the Song Edition by Yan Kejun and Lu Xinyuan attached to the twenty-fifth volume of Chu Xue Ji printed by Zhonghua Book Company is verified through textual research. This so-called The Variant of the Song Edition by Yan Kejun and Lu Xinyuan comes from the completely different text that Yan Kejun copied from Wang Chang's old collection and Xu Shouming edition in Ming Dynasty. These words can still be found in version printed by Zongwentang of Zheng's family collected in Taiwan Province,China, but the version recorded by Yan is not the original appearance of Zongwentang's version. The Variant of the Song Edition by Yan Kejun and Lu Xinyuan was actually forged by later generations, but was mistakenly believed to be authentic by Yan Kejun. This understanding profoundly influenced later scholars'understanding of the versions of Chu Xue Ji printed in Ming and Qing Dynasty, and became the source of the theory that the original copy obtained by An Guo in Ming Dynasty was a damaged copy, and even that Chu Xue Ji has An Guo's movable type version.
