Nuo as a folk sacrifice ceremony in Yancheng is a division of Chinese Nuo culture.Nuo culture is the oldest and most vigorous intangible cultural heritage in China.Nuo practice is a rich sign system,sacred books,written announcement around the sacred shelter,sacrifice instruments,works of art are tangible signs.Auspicious thoughts,customs and folk beliefs belong to intangible signs.This study deals with semiotic analysis of Yancheng Nuo in Jiangsu and tries to explore the meaning production in the process of semiotic transformations.
