Green innovation is a crucial element for achieving high-quality and sustainable development.The commercial circulation industry,as a vital sector that connects production and consumption,significantly impacts resource utilization efficiency,environmental protection,and sustainable development.This paper analyzes panel data from 31 provinces(including municipalities)in China from 2005 to 2021 and employs an ultra-efficiency SBM model to measure green innovation efficiency.Additionally,it utilizes a spatial Durbin model to elucidate the impact mechanism of industrial agglomeration in the commercial circulation industry on green innovation efficiency:(1)The results of the spatial Durbin model indicate that industrial agglomeration in the commercial circulation industry enhances green innovation efficiency;(2)The decomposition effect results reveal that industrial agglomeration in the commercial circulation industry has a spatial spillover effect within the region but has not yet generated spillover effects on surrounding areas;(3)The heterogeneity analysis results demonstrate that industrial agglomeration in the wholesale and retail trade,transportation,warehousing and postal services,and accommodation and catering sectors significantly and positively influences green innovation efficiency.In light of these findings,the paper recommends strengthening government support and guidance,as well as encouraging collaborative cooperation among enterprises.
