Rituals are widely used and always controversial in social science research.Communication scholar James Carey was the first to consider ritual as a different form of communication related to information.Later, with the expansion of the functionalist school, ritual was gradually applied to the study of media ritual and other aspects. In recent years, the rapid development of sharing and informatization has changed the connotation and extension of rituals. In the context of China, rituals have shown new characteristics, with constantly enriched theoretical paradigms and broader evolutionary directions. In the face of more complex practical demands,it is necessary for rituals to construct an integrated theoretical system at the theoretical level to respond to practical needs.
