Dynamics and Reflections of English Reading Open Classes in Secondary Schools in China in the New Century
Based on 100 core journals among Chinese journals from 2000-2022 included in the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),the article adopts bibliometric and content analysis methods to explore the basic dynamics of modern secondary school English open classroom research in the new century from four perspectives,namely,grammatical translation,discourse analysis,stratified teaching,and continuation after writing.The results show that:(1)the grammar-translation approach in the budding period highlights the exemplary nature of public lessons;(2)the discourse analysis approach in the calm period emphasizes advance gradually;(3)the stratified teaching approach in the developing period focuses on the students;(4)the continuation after writing approach in the maturing period keep an eye on text and output.The reflects on the shift from teaching separation to multimodal class-room,the emphasis of language knowledge to thinking quality,and the key point from teacher-directed to interaction are also discussed in this paper.
