During the process of rapid urbanization in China,large-scale reconstruction of old cities leads to certain"urban diseases",such as"one thousand streets appear alike",flood of vehicles in street space, low environmental quality, lack of security, sharply weakened identity to urban culture, which seriously threaten the health of urban residents. As the most basic and important public space in the city, streets not only carry dual functions of urban transportation and daily life, but also shoulder important health service functions. On the basis of fully absorbing and summarizing the relevant research and practice results at home and abroad, this paper takes the street transformation of Zhongshan Avenue in Wuhan as the main research object, analyzing the new functions that the street should carry and the logical relationship with the old street space from the three dimensions of theory, reality and countermeasures, and putting forward three major strategies for the refinement of the street system,including"slow-moving priority",health vitality, and restoration of the cultural lineage. It aims to refine the universal strategy and transform the construction of shared streets from theory to practice, with a view to providing useful references and lessons for promoting the healthy development of the cities in China, upgrading the human environment and increasing people's happiness.
