In view of non-English major college students'low participation in oral English class,this study conducted action research on"Improving College Oral English Teaching with Formative Assessment Programs"for two consecutive semesters in a first-year class of undergraduate medical majors.The results of the study show that continuous improvement and optimization of the formative assessment program can effectively improve students'participation in the oral English class,promote students'positive emotions in their oral English learning,and thus improve the quality of oral English teaching.
