Innovations and Dilemmas in Existential Feminist Narratives——Based on the Movie The Worst Person in the World
The Worst Person in the World is a Norwegian movie themed on female growth.Unlike some radical"female narratives on power struggle",this movie is a relatively calm and reflective one about women's search for the self.In the film, with her self-awareness gradually awakening in the process of growing up,the female protagonist Julie aspires to realize her own value by constantly adjusting the direction of her life in the process of searching for her true self, but ultimately deviates from the traditional track of success that the world expects of her.All this highlights the theme of existential feminist narrative, and reveals the innovation of this narrative as well as its own dilemma:Julie dares to get rid of the secular value standard, and strives to be sober, independent, and true to herself. However, this also brings new dilemmas, that is,what kind of self to be,how to anchor herself, which are still propositions to be pursued.
