Exploration of the Professionalization Transformation of Normal University Journals
Normal university journals are faced with common issues such as"inward orientation""homogeneity"and being"fragmented, small, and weak",which make it difficult to attract high-quality submissions. The introduction of policies related to talent evaluation has exacerbated the loss of quality manuscripts.Comprehensive publishing of humanities and sciences cannot meet the developmental needs of specific disciplines, hindering the further enhancement of these journals'influence. Therefore,it is necessary to seek new publishing strategies.Using the"Journal of Guangdong Second Normal University"as an example, this paper explores the feasibility of professionalization transformation.Policy encouragement and support for the professionalization of journals are increasing. The mindset of journal practitioners towards the comprehensive humanities and sciences publishing model has changed.Focusing on the primary disciplines and strengths of the institution is the source of vitality for the professionalization transformation of journals.In-depth research is the key to accurately positioning the journal and scientifically setting up sections. The transformation of editorial knowledge ensures the smooth professionalization transformation of the journal. It is necessary to increase publicity for journal transformation, actively solicit submissions through multiple channels, and promote the sustained development of journal professionalization transformation.
