Green Economy View of Latin American"Beyond Development"Theory in Comparative Perspective and Its Implications to Socialist Ecological Civilization
From an ecological perspective, the Beyond Development Theory(BDT)offers a scathing cri-tique of the export-oriented economic development model of raw materials in Latin American coun-tries,focusing on why this"extracti vism"development model persists even after the rise to the centre-left governments. On this basis,it proposes a radical alternative to the development dilemma in Latin America.BDT still faces numerous shortcomings and challenges at both the theoretical and practical levels, making it inappropriate to overemphasize its theoretical maturity and the significance of the path of practical change. However, for the construction of socialist ecological civilization in China, the the-oretical exploration and practical promotion of the radical"red-green"transformation vision in Latin America by BDT can help us more deeply understand the theoretical and political implications of so-cialist ecological civilization, especially the prerequisite importance of the green transformation of the economic and social development model,as well as the practical necessity and challenging significance of realizing such a transformation beyond the scope of a single country.
