Topic Evolution and Frontier Topic Identification of Foreign Literature in the 21st Century Based on LDA Topic Model
[Purpose/significance]This paper aims to reveal the frontier topics in the field of foreign literature in the 21st century,and to analyze the evolution path of the research topics,so as to provide direction for the future research.[Method/process]Using six CSSCI journals from the CNKI database from 2000 to 2023 in the field of foreign literature as a corpus,this paper applied the LDA topic model to extract research topics.It analyzed the emerging and hot research frontier topics in the field literature by calculating the novelty and intensity of the topics,and constructed the evolutionary path of the topics in combination with time slices.[Results/conclusion]The LDA topic model established in this paper can accurately reveal the research topics of foreign literature and the evolution paths of dif-ferent periods;literary criticism theory,feminist research and ethnic literature become the three mainstream research directions of foreign literature in the 21st century.The evolution of topics under this model conforms to the periodic changes of topics,proving practical value for predicting the development and change of the topic and determining the frontier research topics.The digital humanities technology provides new ideas and perspectives for the study of foreign literature.
