Interactive tabletop is an integrated group platform,which has great potential capacity in operational simulation, But its application depth and width are limited. To promote its application, this paper discusses the technical challenges and corresponding solutions from the view of natural interaction, multi-user operation, horizontal positioned, and legacy system modification. At last, a commander-centric futuristic simulation scenario on interactive tabletop is introduced.
