Based on the bibliometrics and visualization methods, this paper first analyzed the researchers and topics of the articles in mi-croblog research and found that the core authors mainly come from disciplines of journalism, management and information science. Then, the research progress was analyzed from five aspects including general theory, emergency, public opinion, and the relationships of microb-log and individual and social organization. At last, it was pointed out that the technology breakthrough, the cooperation of different disci-plines, the practice-oriented research and self-regulation will be the development tendency in future microblog research.
