U.S.and Western Civilian Open Source Intelligence Practices and Impact on Official Intelligence Services:Taking the Russian-Ukrainian Conflict as an Example
[Research purpose]The study of the practice of civilian open-source intelligence in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and its im-pact on official intelligence activities is conducive to understanding the new features of the development of civilian open source intelligence in the context of the digital age.[Research method]By analyzing official documents,academic articles,think tank reports and media re-ports,the study elaborates on the background of the emergence of civilian open source intelligence,its practice and impact in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.[Research conclusion]The study shows that the capabilities of civilian open-source intelligence have been steadily ad-vancing,performing military intelligence,cognitive countermeasure functions,and complementing official intelligence disclosure in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.Civilian practices in open-source intelligence are challenging the traditional secrecy of official intelligence,potentially influencing the methods and transparency of official intelligence analysis and disclosure.
