[Research purpose]In recent years,western economies led by Europe and the United States have intensified their strategic posi-tioning,attempting to seize control over critical mineral resources through state intervention and suppress China's economies and high-tech industries.Research and analysis of the policies and strategic planning in the critical mineral sector of Europe and the United States aim to uncover the strategic priorities in their recent efforts to diversify the global supply chain.[Research method]Using literature analysis and comparative analysis,this paper analyzes the strategic characteristics,strategic measures and demand in critical minerals and clean energy in the United States and the West from the aspects of assessing strategic environment,studying the layout of industrial chain and supply chain,defining national interests,and evaluating the impact on China.[Research conclusion]Europe and the United States place high emphasis on risk prevention and control in the critical mineral supply chain,forming a strategic alliance to curb China.China should close-ly monitor the strategic trends in their critical mineral supply chain,enhance the existing intelligence research system,and address current threats and challenges by strengthening risk alert capabilities,increasing research investment,promoting multilateral cooperation,and refi-ning investment mechanisms,etc.
