Analysis of the Discourse Space in Germany's First National Security Strategy:From the Perspective of Critical Cognitive Linguistics
[Research purpose]Language and politics are closely related.The linguistic analysis of Germany's first National Security Strategy can combine the social and political aspects of discourse and reveal Germany's assessment of its comprehensive security situation and its role in global affairs.[Research method]Based on the cognitive discourse analysis model of critical cognitive linguistics,the arti-cle integrates image schema theory and discourse space theory to analyze the discourse space of Germany's National Security Strategy.[Research conclusion]The study finds that three types of composite image schemes,namely path type,container type and force type,are used in the discourse space of Germany's first National Security Strategy.In addition,the National Security Strategy maps the traditional and non-traditional security threats faced by Germany on the spatial axis,reveals the implementation path of security strategy,and displays the historical considerations and future trends of security strategy on the temporal axis.The National Security Strategy also focuses on the principled position of the security strategy on the axiological axis and emphasizes the government's determination to promote the transfor-mation of security policies.This study has theoretical and practical value in revealing the role of image schemes and discourse space in po-litical discourse,and provides new ideas and methods for the study of different national security strategies from the linguistic perspective.
