A Study on the Regulation-based Measurement of Particulate Number Emission of Diesel Engines
ESC,ETC and WHTC tests are conducted on three different makes of diesel engines with their particle number (PN) emission measured by using AVI489 particle counter, which meets the requirements of EU-RO-IⅣ regulations for PN measurement. The results show that for different engines under different test cycles, the particle mass(PM) and PN emissions have rather high correlation.DOC+POC after-treatment can effectively reduce PN emissions. The PN emissions in hot start WHTC cycle are slightly higher than that in cold start cycle. The PN emissions go up with the increase of engine speed and load.
