Effects of External EGR on HCCI Operating Range of Turbocharged Direct Injection Gasoline Engine
Based on a turbocharged direct-injection gasoline engine, the influence of external EGR rate on HCCI operating range and extension ability was studied.Furthermore, combined with GT-Power,the influences of EGR rates on the HCCI operating range extension ability were investigated and predicated. The results show that:with the increase of external EGR rate, ignition timing is delayed, the peak combustion pressure is reduced and the moment reaching the maximum combustion pressure is postponed, burning duration is also prolonged, which can decrease the tendency of detonation and expand the operating range of HCCI.When EGR rate is increased to 13.3%,the upper boundary of HCCI combustion mode is extended by 13.87%.
