Towards an Academic Community:A Critical Examination of Academic Capitalism
Academic capitalism is an intermediary system through which the market invades the academic world,a system of changing the roles and values of university teachers, and a system of guiding the development of university research. As a product of the development of today's market economy era,it has brought great benefits to the academic community, but its disadvantages are also increasingly apparent:leading to the unequal relationship between applied technology disciplines and general education disciplines, teaching and research, and academic class relations, and the loss of public welfare attributes.Combined with the general law of human society development and people's yearning for academic freedom, harmonious and equal development,to get out of the predicament of academic capitalism,we need to focus on building an academic community, that is,building an equal ecological system of higher education, promoting the interest balance mechanism of higher education, improving the input system of higher education, and guaranteeing academic public welfare.
