Research on Over-discharge Cycle Aging and Discharge Heat Generation Characteristics of 21700 NCA Lithium-ion Batteries
The cycle aging experiment of different discharge cut-off voltages was conducted on 21700 NCA lithium-ion batteries. The aging mechanism of lithium-ion batteries under over-discharge cycles conditions was investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and differential voltage analysis, and the maximum temperature, heat output, maximum heat generation power, and average heat generation power of the over-discharged batteries during discharge were measured in an adiabatic environment. The research findings indicate that over-discharge cycles accelerate battery aging, with loss of lithium inventory as the primary aging mode during over-discharge cycles, following the over-discharge cycles aging process, both the maximum heat generation power and average heat generation power during battery discharge show a noticeable increase.
