Numerical Simulation of Wing Buffet Response Based on a CFD/CSD Coupling Method
With consideration of aeroelastic effects,a computational fluid dynamics/computational structural dynamics(CFD/CSD)coupling method is developed for numerical simulation of wing buffet response.Because buffet often occurs along with large-scale flow separation,a detached-eddy simulation(DES)method is used to increase the fidelity of turbulence modeling.Considering the requirements of long-time buffet response simulation and large computational efforts,a self-developed automatic dynamic mesh deformation method and some efficient unsteady flow and aeroelastic modeling techniques are adopted for improving the computational efficiency. The present method is applied to simulate wing buffet response of a delta wing and a supercritical wing.By comparisons with experiment or other literatures and time-frequency characteristic analysis, the reliability and accuracy of the method in predicting buffet response at high angle of attack and transonic buffet response are verified.
