Contribution of Viscous Dissipation to Wall Heat Flux
The wall heat flux is decomposed into four parts, including the contribution from the turbulent heat transfer, the contribution from the molecular heat transfer, the contribution from the pressure work, and the contribution from the work from viscous stress(VW).The paper first validated the decomposition in compressible flow at Ma 0.3(approximately incompressible flow)and Ma 1.5,and the results are in good agreement with the heat flux directly calculated on the wall. Moreover, the contribution to the fluctuating viscous stress(VWf)can be further decomposed into solenoidal dissipation, dilatational dissipation and fluctuation density correlation related dissipation. It is found that the main contribution to the fluctuating field is the solenoidal dissipation term.At low Mach number, the results also show that the viscous work is still the main contribution term to the wall heat flux, although the mean velocity is quite close to the results from the incompressible case.
