Researchs Review of Problems Related to Hailstone Impact on Aircraft
Hailstone impacts are one of the major hazards to the safety of aircraft flight.Researches on hailstone impacts can help guide the anti-hailstone design of aircraft and ensure the safety of aircraft flight.Based on the existing hailstone studies,this paper briefly describes the formation processes,mechanical properties of hailstone,and the production of artificial hailstones.It also summarizes the existing hail impact-related studies from three aspects:ice swallowing/hail impact experiments,hail intrinsic model,and numerical simulations.In addition,based on the existing researches,some research directions that need to be focused on the hailstone impact problems are proposed,which can provide some references for the subsequent hail impact studies.
