Zonal Method for Extending Measurement Range of Five-Hole Probe
There is a strong three-dimensional flow in a compressor cascade with high speed and high load.In this case, the commonly used measurement principle of five-hole probe is no longer applicable due to singularity problems.By analogy with the measuring principle of seven-hole probe,five-hole probe adopts the zonal method to broaden its measuring range. The essence of the zonal method is still the same as that of the commonly used method. The difference is that more suitable dynamic pressure is replaced in each partition, which ensures the consistency and rationality in the physical sense. In the expansion area, the definition of the direction angle is different from the usual method, but they can be converted to each other.By comparing the results of the two methods at the outlet section of the highly-loaded compressor cascade with an inlet Mach number of 0.67,it is found that the measurement of the angle and static pressure of the corner by the zonal method is more accurate, and the maximum measured angle is-40.95°,and for the measurement of total pressure, the two methods have relatively consistent results.
