Through in-depth analysis of trace elements in 21 section samples from the Getanggou Formation in Jiuquan Basin, the paleoclimatic environment in this area was qualitatively and semi-quantitatively studied. The study shows that the Sr/Ba ratio in the samples ranges from 0.05 to 0.27.The study area is mainly freshwater environment, with local characteristics showing saltwater environment. The mean value of δU is 0.85,and the sedimentary environment in this area is generally oxidation-weak reduction environment.According to the calculation of ancient water depth, the average depth in this area is 18.29 m,indicating that the overall water body depth is shallow. The average Sr/Cu ratio is 6.22,indicating that the study area has a warm and humid climate.
