Analysis of a 110 kV Cable GIS Terminal Explosion Failure
A 110 kV cable GIS terminal explosion failure was analyzed. The main cause of the failure was insulation aging caused by partial discharge at the end of the stress cone of the cable GIS terminal, increased leakage current and heating.Under the combined action of discharge and heating, the insulation strength of the stress cone and epoxy sleeve joint surface was reduced and flasover occurred.
