Research on the geological characteristics and ore-controlling factors of Kushuiquan gold mine in the northern margin of Qaidam basin
Kushuiquan gold mine is located in the PB-Zn-AU-Cu-Mn-coal metallogenic sub-belt of Xitie mountain-Buguote mountain in the northern margin of Qaidam basin. The ore body is controlled by northwest-southeast,northeast-southwest and nearly north-south trending fault structures. The host rock is early Silurian quartz diorite. The metal minerals of the ore are medium to low temperature combinations such as magnetite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, fibronite, goethite, malachite and azurite. The alteration of the surrounding rock in the near mine is characterized by sericitization and silicification, while that in the far mine is characterized by chloritization,epidotization,sericitiza-tion and carbonation. The gold mine is mainly controlled by faulted structures and diorite dikes. The prospecting indicators are fault structures, rock alteration and diorite veins. In summary, useful refe-rences for future research on the similar type of gold mine can be provided by conducting research on the controlling factors and prospecting indicators of Kushuiquan gold mine.
