Study on the relationship between leginhemoglobin in faba bean root nodule and its yield
A total of 14 fava bean varieties(lines)are taken as materials to explore the nodule cha-racteristics and the relationship between nodule leginhemoglobin content and yield of fava bean at different growth stages.Their nodule characteristics and nodule leginhemoglobin content are measured during the flowering, podding, bulging and mature stages. The yield is measured during the mature stage. The variations in nodule quantity, fresh weight, dry weight and leginhemoglobin content are analyzed,as well as their correlation with yield. The results indicate that from the flowering stage to the mature stage, the numbers of root nodules and the leginhemoglobin content of different faba bean varieties(lines)show an overall decreasing trend, while the fresh weight and dry weight of root nodule show an overall increasing trend, followed by a decreasing trend.Among the 14 varieties,Qingcan 15 has the highest yield(7 642.96 kg/hm2),which is 1.1~2.4 times higher than the other 13 varieties(lines),indicating a significant difference between Qingcan 15 and the other 13 varieties. The number, fresh weight and dry weight of root nodule during the bulging and mature stages are the key factors regulating the content of root nodule leginhemoglobin. The dry weight, fresh weight, quantity and leginhemoglobin content of mature root nodule are significantly positively corre-lated with yield, which are important factors in regulating the yield of faba bean. The research results provide scientific basis for the breeding of high nitrogen fixing faba bean varieties(lines).
